It is smaller than White Sands and has its own restaurants and shops, so you can walk to dinner without a scooter. Travellers who want something between the busy north and the quieter south often settle here.
The beaches next to it are Klong Prao and Lonely Beach, and Long Beach is also on this part of the coast.
How the taxi works
Choose the start in the order form: a Bangkok address, an airport or Pattaya. The driver takes the road to Laem Ngop, boards the ferry with you and continues to your hotel on the island. The further you go along the west coast, the longer the island road after the ferry, and Kai Bae is a midway stop on it.
From Bangkok the road to the pier is 4 h 20 min. A pick-up at 10:00 reaches the ferry in the afternoon, and the island road after it ends in the early evening.
