Koh Chang ferry access
Koh Chang is an island, and people and cars reach it by ferry from Laem Ngop in Trat province. The crossing from the Ao Thammachat pier takes about 30 minutes, and the car you booked drives on board with you.

The piers of Laem Ngop
Ao Thammachat and Center Point are the two ferry piers for Koh Chang, a few kilometres apart along the same coast, and our drivers take guests to either one. Ao Thammachat is the one with the crossing of about 30 minutes.
Krom Luang is the pier of the boats to Koh Mak. Boats to Koh Kood leave from Laem Sok, a different pier. The piers page compares them.
Crossing with the car
When you book Koh Chang, the driver drives the car on the ferry and you cross with him. At the island you stay in the car, and the driver takes you to your hotel. The ferry is not included in the price: plus ferry tickets, about 80 THB per person. The wait for the ferry depends on the queue, and the driver waits in it, so you do not leave the car.
Ferries run through the day and stop in the early evening. Check the current timetable before a late crossing.
Crossing on foot
If you book the Laem Ngop pier instead, the driver leaves you at the pier and you buy the ticket at the counter. On the island you take a songthaew or a taxi, paid on the spot. The pier costs 3,599 THB for a Standard Sedan from Bangkok against 3,899 THB to a hotel on the island.
Foot passengers should add the walk to the boat and the wait for the next departure to the road time.
How long the road to the pier takes
The price list gives the road time to Laem Ngop: 4 h 20 min from Bangkok, 3 h 50 min from Suvarnabhumi, 4 h 40 min from Don Mueang and 3 h 05 min from Pattaya. A pick-up after about 13:00 from Bangkok puts the last crossing at risk.
