Pier price against island price
The pier costs 3,299 THB for a Standard Sedan, 400 THB less than the 3,699 THB to a hotel on Koh Chang. Book the pier if you are going to Koh Mak, if you want a night on the mainland, or if you prefer to cross on foot. Book the island transfer from Suvarnabhumi to Koh Chang if the car should drive you to the hotel.
On the island the trip continues by songthaew or taxi, and that is paid on the spot.
Catching the last boat
The ferries and the boats to the islands stop in the early evening. With 3 h 50 min on the road, a flight that clears the terminal by about 14:00 makes an afternoon crossing. A later arrival can sleep near Laem Ngop and cross in the morning.
