Ferries to Koh Chang, Koh Mak and Koh Kood
Three islands are served by two mainland piers. Koh Chang and Koh Mak are reached from Laem Ngop, and Koh Kood is reached from Laem Sok. The taxi can take you to the island itself, or to the pier of your boat.

Laem Ngop: Koh Chang and Koh Mak
Laem Ngop in Trat province is the mainland port for two islands. The ferry to Koh Chang leaves from the Ao Thammachat pier, and the crossing takes about 30 minutes. Center Point is a second ferry pier on the same coast, a few kilometres on.
Boats to Koh Mak leave from Krom Luang pier, and the boat operator's timetable decides the departure. A taxi to Laem Ngop costs 3,599 THB for a Standard Sedan from Bangkok, 3,299 THB from Suvarnabhumi, 3,599 THB from Don Mueang and 3,099 THB from Pattaya.
Laem Sok: Koh Kood
Boats to Koh Kood leave from the Laem Sok pier, which is a different pier from Laem Ngop. The boat ride is about an hour according to public sources, and the operator's timetable decides the departure.

Island or pier
Book Koh Chang when your hotel is on the island: the car crosses on the ferry and the driver takes you to the door. Book a pier when you go on by boat to Koh Mak or Koh Kood, or when you prefer to cross on foot. At Laem Ngop the ferry access page explains the crossing.

Tickets and timing
The ferry and the boat are not included in the price: plus ferry and boat tickets. They are bought at the pier or from the boat operator, and the taxi price does not cover them. The ferry is not included in the price: plus ferry tickets, about 80 THB per person.
Ferries and boats run through the day and stop in the early evening. From Bangkok the road to Laem Ngop takes 4 h 20 min, so a late pick-up puts the last boat at risk. From 24 December to 5 January 400 THB is added per car.
