Private taxi

The driver waits at Gate 5 or Gate 11 with your name on a sign, takes the bags, drives onto the ferry with you and leaves you at your resort. Tolls and fuel are already in the price of the car. The wait for a delayed flight is included.

The Toyota Innova at 4,299 THB takes four with their luggage, and the Hyundai H1 at 6,299 THB takes six.

Bus and minivan

There is no direct bus from Don Mueang to the ferry. You reach a bus terminal first, then ride to Trat, then take a songthaew to the pier and another along the island road. Bags and a late landing make the chain of changes slow.

Check the timetable at the terminal, because departures and fares change.

Rental car

A rental car can be collected at the airport. The route crosses the north of Bangkok before it reaches the open road, and the way back means the same drive again. The ferry takes cars, and you pay for the crossing at the pier.

A taxi is easier after a flight.

Which to choose

One person with a day bag can manage the public chain. A family or a group with suitcases takes the taxi, because the fare is shared and the trip is door to door. A traveller who lands in the evening should take the taxi too, since buses to Trat finish early.

Details and prices are on the price page. You pay the driver in cash, or by Visa, Mastercard, PayPal, transfer by QR code or bank transfer to a Thai account if you prefer.

After the road

The crossing takes about 30 minutes. The ferry is not included in the price: plus ferry tickets, about 80 THB per person. The service page Taxi from Don Mueang to Koh Chang covers the trip step by step.
